2015 Bibi Graetz Colore Rosso

James Suckling, James Suckling, November 2018

“This is wonderful on the nose with orange peel and even lime. Leather and hints of cherries. Some savory rosemary undertones and smoked meat. Forest floor, too. Full-bodied, tight and focused. A serious finish that is polished, dense and fresh. Excellent structure. 80% sangiovese with colorino and canniolo. Needs three to four years to come together, but it’s already excellent.”

2019 Bibi Graetz Testamatta Rosso

James Suckling, James Suckling, July 2021

“Very attractive combination of dried fruit and spices with black cherries and plums. Aromas of flowers and sandalwood, too. Full-bodied and very refined, yet intense, with plush, velvety tannins that are wonderfully integrated and intertwined with the fruit. Ripe center palate. Tight at the end, suggesting the need for some serious bottle age. Very structured. Try after 2025.”

Needs time to soften. Try after 2024.”

2018 Bibi Graetz Testamatta Rosso

James Suckling, James Suckling, July 2020

“Very subtle aromas of cherries, bark, black truffles and flowers. Hints of crushed stones. It’s full-bodied, yet very tight and solid with a very tight, minerally structure. Very long and intense. Racy and bright at the end. Powerful, orange-peel and citrus-fruit undertones. Salty and minerally. This needs time to develop in the bottle. Extremely structured. A wine not to touch until after 2023.”

2016 Ricasoli Castello di Brolio Chianti Classico Gran Selezione DOCG

James Suckling, James Suckling, June 2019

“There’s lots of clove character here, but the fruit really shines through, offering up intense hibiscus, orange rind, cranberries, Thai basil and dark chocolate. Full-bodied and really structured and refined with an agile core of red berries and savory undertones. Long but minerally on the finish. Drink in 2024.”
