2020 Château Beaulieu Cuvée Alexandre

Joe Czerwinski, Robert Parker Wine Advocate, July 2021

“The 2020 Coteaux d'Aix en Provence Rose Cuvée Alexandre includes an appreciable Cabernet Sauvignon component (27%), while the majority of the blend is Grenache (52%) and the balance is Cinsault (21%). It's still a pale-hued rosé but includes some leafy overtones to the redcurrant, melon and citrus fruit and an undercurrent of crushed stone. It's medium-bodied on the palate, crisp and refreshing, with a long, mouthwatering finish.”

2012 Rare Millésimé Rosé

James Suckling, James Suckling, July 2022

“Pale salmon-copper color with aromas of raspberries, fresh and dried cherries, rose-water, grapefruit, salted almonds, cloves and white pepper. Silky and vibrant, with very fine bubbles and bright acidity. Beautiful combination of fresh fruit and subtle spice. Lingering, salted yellow-plum notes on the long, elegant finish. Dry. 8% pinot noir red wine from Les Riceys, blended with 40% pinot noir and 60% chardonnay, from 12 different villages. 7g/l. Drink or hold.”

Charles Heidsieck Champagne Charlie

James Suckling, James Suckling, November 2022

“Attractive green gold color with a solid bead. It shows lots of buttered brioche and cooked apples with some underlying white pepper. Some grapefruit. Full-bodied but not heavy, with a solid core of fruit and lots of apple pie and lime flavors. Lively acidity at the end, phenolic and structured. I like the bitter lemon and pie crust. A blend of 48% pinot noir and 52% chardonnay. This will age nicely. Drink or hold.”

Charles Heidsieck Champagne Charlie

Audrey Frick, Jeb Dunnuck, November 2022

“The NV Champagne Charlie (2017) is the first release since the 1985 “vintage.” The new rendition embraces the long-held emphasis for this cuvée on reserve wine (despite having previously been labelled as a vintage wine) and now represents 80% of the blend, with only 20% from the base vintage of 2016, the oldest of the reserve wines going back to 1998. The wine is fantastically detailed and unfolds with layers of delicate smoky perfume, peach, and citrus blossoms. A refined and delicate mousse wraps around a core of orchard fruits, quince, and chalk. There is impeccable detail with this edition that will continue to improve over the coming decades. Drink 2024-2044.”

2012 Charles Heidsieck Millésimé Vintage Brut

Audrey Frick, Jeb Dunnuck, November 2022

“The 2012 Champagne Millésime Brut is classic and harmonious. Layered and ripe with brioche, hazelnut, and baked apple, it is mouth-filling and round, with a pillowy mousse of ripe pear, custard, and orange oil. This is an assertive and forward wine with a timeless feel. Drink 2023-2043.”

2007 Charles Heidsieck Blanc des Millénaires

Audrey Frick, Jeb Dunnuck, November 2022

“The 2007 Champagne Blanc de Millenaires is floral with honeysuckle, fresh pear, and fresh pastry. The palate fills with fresh Meyer lemon, green apple, and has a soft yet linear mineral feel. Drink 2023-2043.”

2008 Charles Heidsieck Millésimé Vintage Rosé

Audrey Frick, Jeb Dunnuck, November 2022

“The 2008 Champagne Millésime Rose is 63% Pinot Noir, with 9% of that being still red wine and the rest Chardonnay. Notably, for this vintage they have lowered the dosage levels from years past. It is fresh with rose petal, rhubarb, sweet herbs, and apricot. The palate is structured with tart cherry, raspberry, nectarine, and salty earth as well as an attractive stony texture.”
