Wilfred Wong, Wilfred Wong, August 2023
“The Piper Heidsieck Champagne Cuvée Brut is sleek and delivers nicely on the palate. TASTING NOTES: This wine exhibits aromas and flavors of apple and peach skin. It is bright and zesty in the finish, making it an excellent partner with tuna tartare.”

2020 Luke Columbia Valley "The Companion" Red Blend
Loren Sonkin, intowine.com, September 2023
“This is a blend of 54% Cabernet Sauvignon, 27% Merlot, 14% Syrah, 3% Petite Verdot, 1% Cabernet Franc, and 1% Malbec from Washington State. Deep garnet in color, mostly opaque and bright. The nose is nice; dusty with black raspberries, plums, spice, slight black cherries and a hint of vanilla. Soft texture with medium tannins. On the palate, black raspberries, cassis with underlying spice and slight char. Long finish. This is an easy drinking red that has some backbone and depth. Drink over the next five to seven years. Very nice on its own, this will work great with a brisket out of the smoker.”

2022 Donnafugata Rosa Dolce&Gabbana
Danielle Callegari, Wine Enthusiast, August 2023
“Salt air and flinty crushed rock are first on the nose of this pale pink rosato, followed by pink grapefruit and nectarine. The salty citrus blend continues on the palate, with the notes of stone fruit giving emphasis to a roundness that gives length.”

2020 Donnafugata Floramundi Cerasuolo di Vittoria DOCG
Monica Larner, Wine Advocate, May 2023
“The Donnafugata 2020 Cerasuolo di Vittoria Floramundi (made with Nero d'Avola and Frappato) is very bright and floral with wild rose, lavender and a hint of sweet peach blossom. The wine's bright primary fruit cedes to tangy freshness and a light-weight texture. Fundamentally, this is one of those extremely food-friendly reds that could pair with anything from baked fish to roast chicken. Production is 46,000 bottles.”

2021 Amalaya Malbec
Luis Gutiérrez, Wine Advocate, November 2022
“The dark red 2021 Malbec is young, primary and fresh, with ripe fruit and nice balance. It is varietal and has notes of violets and small berries and a touch of herbs. It's medium-bodied with medium ripeness and moderate alcohol, 13.9%. In reality, it's not 100% Malbec, as it contains 10% Tannat and 5% Petit Verdot. A serious red for very little money.”

“100% Frappato, aged in stainless steel tanks. Bright, medium deep garnet; aromas of currant, wild strawberry and oregano. Medium-bodied with very good ripeness, lively acidity, moderate tannins and impressive persistence. This wine beautifully combines excellent varietal character, notable typicity and admirable harmony. Pair this with a range of foods from eggplant parmigiana to lighter game birds; 4-5 years.”

2022 Luke Columbia Valley Sauvignon Blanc
Loren Sonkin, intowine.com, September 2023
“From Washington state, this comes in at 13.2%abv. Green/gold in color, clear and bright. The nose is nice with lemon/lime, minerality and a touch of grassiness. Medium bodied with a nice, slightly oily texture. Good acidity. On the palate, limes with a slight gooseberry note and underlying minerality. Long finish. Overall, a very nice Sauvignon Blanc for a very fair price. This is lovely on its own and will work nicely with lighter foods. A great choice with a fruit salad for lunch.”

2020 Luke Columbia Valley Cabernet Sauvignon
Loren Sonkin, intowine.com, September 2023
“This is 87% Cabernet Sauvignon, 6% Merlot, 5% Malbec and 2% Petite Verdot from Washington state. Deep garnet in color, mostly opaque and bright. The nose has cassis, char and slight dark chocolate. Full bodied. Silky tannins. On the palate, black cherries, cassis, slight chocolate and a bit of spice. Some minty and bitter cherry notes on the finish. There is some depth here and it may improve a bit with short term cellaring. It is nice on its own, but seemed better with food. Of course, a burger would do, but it worked great with Felafel. Drink over the next five to eight years.”
