The 2018 finishes with unexpected depth and concentration, leaving fine-grained tannins that pinch at the cheeks. There's substantially more power and complexity than expected here. That said, this varietal Nerello Mascalese is geared for the cellar.”

Still very youthful, it will improve with age but seems to lack a little bit of the intensity seen in the 2019.”

With Nerello Mascalese from 700 meters above sea level on the flank of the Sicilian volcano, the 2018 Etna Rosso Dolce & Gabbana Cuordilava evokes dried currant and cassis with rosemary sprig, rose petal, iron ore and campfire ash. There is some sweet spice over a mid-weight mouthfeel with relatively soft tannins. This special collaboration consists of 7,000 bottles.”
