Folio Winemakers’ Studio
Folio Winemakers’ Studio is home to several wine companies (I'M, Medusa, Spellbound and Mayro-Murdick) and several of the Folio brands (Oberon and Hangtime) are actually made at the winery. Why “Studio”? We feel fine winemaking is an art and we wanted the name of our winery to communicate that it is a place where art is shared by enthusiasts of all levels. Please come visit our new Taste Gallery, a comprehensive sensory experience that includes: wine and food pairings, art exhibits, amazing vineyard views from our porch, educational programs, and special events. Inside the Taste Gallery we feature your favorite varietals from our own Studio winemakers showcasing I’M, Oberon, Hangtime, Medusa, Spellbound and Mayro-Murdick wines. This studio concept is brought to you by
the Michael Mondavi Family.
Folio Winemakers’ Studio offers First Fridays, a monthly art opening at the Taste Gallery featuring inspiring works by local artists. Guests will be able to speak face-to-face with the exhibiting artist while enjoying the taste of the Studio winemakers’ art. Guests may purchase at the First Fridays opening or throughout the month of showing. The Taste Gallery offers a unique variety of finds to take home that will help preserve the memories of the visit and enjoyment of the wine. Our mix of treasures can range from tabletop items, to rare heirloom dry goods, to the perfect collapsible picnic table for four. We feel wine is a part of a meal and that it should always be accompanied by food. We provide food and wine pairing to help our guests uncover their own palate preferences and encourage trying combinations outside their comfort zone.

ABOUT THE ARTIST - Dana Lyon
Dana Lyon along with his sister, Sandra Ogle, is co-owner of Studio II Gallery in the Napa Valley. They have repeatedly shown their desire to support the local college art programs, the local artists and the arts community at large by providing a venue for education, support and exhibitions. Dana has a technical degree in Photography but is quick to point-out his conviction that the art and the science of Photography are commingled.
The Art of PHOTOGRAPHY
When you attempt to create that intangible element that makes a particular landscape extraordinary, or portrait of a girl's face, heart stealing, is when the science of photography must rely on the heart of the artist. The elements of composition and presentation, caution with light and shadow, often omitting elements of a subject, are all an effort to spark a viewer's imagination into completing the photographer's vision. An intriguing aspect of photography is that there is not necessarily a right or wrong way to make a photograph. The result is its own critic. Taking a photo may be a private, even intimate affair. Viewing a photo is often a shared moment, if not a full public affair. Photo art may expose as much about the photographer as about the subject
